Perhaps the best way to earn money on the internet is to create a blog, build its popularity and then hang back and watch while the numbers in your PayPal account climb as people click on the ads in your sidebars, footers, headers, etc. If you are good at your blog, you can eventually make thousands of dollars every year. Of course, first you need to help your blog gain readers. You already understand that the way to earn money with a blog is to get as much traffic as you can. But how do you get that traffic in the first place? How do you promote your blog when you are just starting out? Here are a few hints:
1. Use Article marketing. There’s no need to go overboard with this when you’re a beginner. In fact, the smarter technique could be to save your best material to build the body of the blog. Still though, a couple of articles on topics within your niche that you submit to a couple of directories can really help. The more bylines out there that have your name in them the better off you will be. Just be sure that your articles are incredibly well written.
2. Before you put up your advertising, try using a few of the traffic exchange programs. These programs also serve as a great way to discover blogs that you like to read. As you spend time reading other blogs using the exchange’s system the system is also sending people to your blog. Often this works in a two to one ratio. For every two blogs you read, your blog is sent to one person. People will discover your site at the same time that you discover theirs. It works wonderfully for anyone included and can help beef up your stats.
3. Add comments on the other sites in your area. It is vital that your comments are prepared well and that they truly add something to the talk. Don’t merely leave a “good job” comment. You really want the comment to indicate that you have really read the whole post and that it contains a real opinion. This just might help you receive the focus of the blog’s owner and they will want to visit your own site; not just that but the attention of the other commenters will probably feel the same way.
4. Reply to comments. You have to do this both publicly as well as privately. If a person takes any time to leave a comment for you, not one but two things has to happen. Respond first to the comment within the comments part of your posting so that it will be available for the public to see. Second, make sure you send the commenter an exclusive e-mail to give thanks to them for taking the time to comment on your writing. This goes a long way to endearing yourself to the commenters and it also induces new people to contribute as well.
These are all things you can do to boost the popularity and awareness of your blog. There are more available!
